More info will become available, but here is some basic info, posted by Mike: FreedomWorks is coordinating their next event in our nation's capitol which will happen on September 12, 2009 on the West Front of the United States Capitol building in Washington,D.C. The event is called the "March On Washington." Details of theevent are at www.freedomworks.org. If you are concerned and angered with the takeover of America by 500 politicians in Washington, join us as we shake our fingers at the thiefs and say "get you hands out of my pockets!"
One good thing about this government caused recession is that hotel rates are somewhat reasonable now. Asan example, the Marriott Courtyard in Manassas currently has a $65 roomrate. See you in Washington.
We will try to coordinate a block of hotel rooms, and bus service to DC.

How about somebody lining up a charter bus trip selling seats on it?
Would not need a room if the bus was used for the trip and besides bus trips are fun.

Allen Page, with FreedomWorks is the person to talk to about buses from various points in NC. I have an email in to him about this.
The national C4L is partnering with the 9/12 and FreedomWorks groups to sponsor the rally in DC. FreedomWorks does not have a schedule posted yet. They do have the West lawn reserved.

May 17, 2009 • 4:39 pm Fresh news for those traveling to DC for the massive March on 9/12. Now those who can get to an AMTRAK train line anywhere in the Country can ride as a member of our “9/12 TAXPAYER MARCH ON WASHINGTON”, with an attendant discount! Read on! “CONVENTION” special travel : (Amtrak has to approve our “convention”;) 1. With no minimum number of riders, each boarding passenger from anywhere on AMTRAK nationwide will enjoy a minimum of 10% discount from the coach minimum fare existent at their boarding location to DC and return (if desired). 2. Discounts for Seniors (62+) of 15%, Military Adult of 10%, and Veterans Advantage of 15%- additive to the “CONVENTION” discount of 10%. 3. Total discounts can be as much as 25% using “Convention” travel. The other Program, called “GROUP TRAVEL”: 1. With a minimum of 20 passengers, all loading at the same time, traveling together to DC and Return are eligible to receive a 20% discount from the lowest AMTRAK fare available at that time. 2. The same discounts apply and are additive to the basic GROUP TRAVEL fare. 3. Total discounts can be as much as 35% using “GROUP TRAVEL”. For example: A Senior traveling as one of a group of 20 boarding the train at Jacksonville, Florida to Washington on 9/11/2009 and returning on 9/13/2009 (to the original boarding station), would be eligible for a Total Fare of only $124 Round Trip! . How’s that for a bargain? Remember, no requirement for overnight motel or ground transportation, reserved reclining seats condusive to sleep, Snack and Beverage Car, Full Dining Car. And if we have enough total riders, we can all be in our own private rail car(s), with the accompanying fellowship. IF YOU HAVE ANY INTEREST OR HAVE QUESTIONS, please email act1fla@comcast.net ,as soon as possible. (No obligation of course). Remember, this approach is now a nation wide opportunity to Ride the Rails to the 9-12 March at a large discount. FYI- I am not a travel agent, but a Patriot member of another Group, Constitutional Emergency, researching for low cost ways for our team to get to DC for 9-12. This is not the only approach, may even not be the best approach, but should be checked for best overall cost, comfort and comraderie. Don Sivesind July 1, 2009 • 3:12 pm Hello All! I am reading through many of the posts and just wanted to let you know we, The BusBank, are working with multiple groups around the country on arranging charter bus transportation to DC for the Tax Protest on 9/12. You will find a link to our website on the National Tax Protest/FreedomWorks site. I see several of you are trying to ‘pool’ different groups together to help with travel costs. We will do what we can to assist you with this, as we hear from different groups across the country. If you are interested in potential charter bus transportation, you can email Philip May at pmay@busbank.com. Phil is the Senior Account Executive working with many groups and will go to work for you. You can certainly email me as well at dsivesind@busbank.com. Thanks. Don Sivesind Vice President of Sales BusBank

The train thing will be around $140 RT per person and up with still no motel or transportation when you get there.
I like to see the bus trip idea so ground transportation can be used with the bus and the motel/hotel package deal would be more organized and better for all!
Any news on the bus deal yet?

I'm going anyway and I was hoping to be part of a group trip on a bus that sounds like fun!
Any info on the buses and the trip schedule?
Not much time left to make arrangements?
Anybody driving up and staying in a motel there? Maybe we could as a group from the Charlotte Area stay at the same motel?

Just booked our room in DC! Staying at the Hyatt Regency next to the Capitol so we can walk to everything and not have to worry about public transportation. The rate was high, but with 4 people in the room it's about $50.00/person/night. There was a block of rooms reserved at a lower rate, but they were sold out. We are driving up on Friday the 11th.
We found good info at http://912dc.org/getting-here/

Hello Fellow Patriots, My husband and I are driving to DC on the 10th. The Embassy Suites at the Conventon Center Area is $119 a night. Check out Orbitz or use your AAA card to get a discount. Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden near the Convention Center Area were also reasonable. These places also provide breakfast.
Am planning to go to a 911 ceremony and visit places of interest such as seeing the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Several of the restaurants/bars were going to have specials for the tax protesters on Friday evening.
Let me know where some of you are staying so that we can march together on Sat. Mary Ann

We will meet in the Wal-Mart Parking lot in Charlotte on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 7:00 pm. The buses will leave promptly at 8:00pm. We will drive to Greensboro to meet up with Marcus and his group. From there we will drive into Virginia. We will stop for breakfast themorning of September 12th around Petersburg, Virginia. From there wewill head on into DC. We will park and walk to the site of the march. The event starts at 10 am and ends at 3 pm. Once the event hasconcluded we will walk back to the bus site and head home. We willstop for dinner. Some of you have asked why we will not stop at a hotel. Many ofpeople especially from our area are now out of work due to the economyand coming up with the bus fair alone is difficult. I have tried tokeep the cost as low as possible so more people can go. However, there is a caravan of cars going up and spending the night. If you would like that information, please let me know and I will put you in touchwith someone that is coordinating that. The address of the Wal-Mart is: 7735 North Tryon Street,Charlotte, NC 28262. The cost of the trip is $70.00 per person and remember to make arrangements for stopping for food. If you would like to leave from Greensboro you may. Just indicate that in your email andI will make sure Marcus has you on his list. I have to have a finalhead count no later than August 28, 2009. In addition, I will need topay American Charters in full on this date. You can send your cash, check, or money order to: Carol Anne Weaver 406 Hanna Street Gastonia, NC 28052 For those of you that prefer PayPal, there will be an account setup this week for that option. Please indicate in an email to me thefollowing if you want a seat on the bus: 1. The name of every passenger you need a seat for. (Please indicate if any are minors) 2. A contact email and phone number for one person in your party. 3. The location from which you would prefer to leave (Charlotte or Greensboro) 4. How you wish to pay. If you send check please remember weneed time for it to clear the bank. If you would like the PayPal info, indicate that so I can send you those details this week. ALL MONEYMUST BE IN BY AUGUST 27th. If you need to bring strollers or wheel-chairs you can. Therewill be room under the buses for these items. You are encouraged tomake signs to decorate the buses and for the event itself. Please notethat the buses cost $3,050.00 each and they seat 55 people. The costof the bus per person will be around $60, but we were asked to make acushion for gratuity. Any money left over will be donated back to theTea Parties of Gaston, Charlotte, and Rutherford Counties. All are encouraged to ask your Tea Party leaders after the event how much money was donated back. You are allowed to bring snacks, coolers, etc. onthe trip. You may also think about bringing a small bag withtoothbrush, change of clothes, etc. if you wish to freshen up. If you have additional questions, concerns, or suggestions feel free to email me at: legalchik77@yahoo.comor phone me at (704) 577-1059. I appreciate all that have helped withthis event. If any information changes before the event I will calland email each person that requests a seat. Thank you and God Bless,Carol Anne Weaver

Come on everybody!
Who is going?
They have only filled up 1 bus and working on the 2nd?
We should be filling up 15 buses?
Come on people, get out there to recruit some more support for this! It's out there! There is alot of people who want to get involved, but don't know how or where to go!
I recruited 2 of my neighbors and I was in a large truck dealership in Charlotte yesterday wearing my Tea Party shirt that had several talking to me about how to get involved with others hearing our conversation jumping in also. The interest is out there, they just don't know how to get involved.
Spread the word because time is running out for the 9/12 rally! It needs to be big!
You need to have your money in by August 27th to get a seat to make HISTORY!
God Bless all! | |

The Freedomworks folks are asking for Rev War and Colonial Period Re-enactors to wear their period correct clothes, and come march at the front of the March with the Fife and Drum Corp. Go to the Freedomworks.org site, on the homepage to sign up. Thanks, Kel
