Is it just me or does the newly born movement need to focus it's mission?  I thoroughly enjoyed the party in Charlotte and was moved by the patriotism and spirit of the delegates.  I find myself however, wondering if we, as a movement don't need to focus and align our specific objectives and platform. I believe we all can agree on the following, but please correct me if I am wrong:

  • The Constitution is under attack.
  • The Bailouts were a financial betrayal of the taxpayer.
  • Taxpayers should have more say in how government spends (Wastes?) our money.
  • The national debt is a threat to our liberty and way of life.
  • We are NOT being represented in Congress by either the GOP or the DNC
  • The incredulous spending of the government over the last 8 years will come back to haunt the US in a major way and something must be done.
  • Every american has the right to pursue happiness but no american is entitled to it.
  • The rights of individuals are being abandoned for the sake of the community and this equates to collectivism and socialism.
  • So called "Rights" are being given to those that have not earned them such as illegal immigrants, convicted felons, and ethically challenged community groups such as ACORN.
  • WE NEED TERM LIMITS FOR ALL CONGRESS MEMBERS.
  • Redistribution of wealth is UNAMERICAN!

Anyone else feel like I do?  If we as a group could come up with a new "Bill of Rights' Which is based entirely on the original document, I feel the movement could gain even more traction.

You are more on track than you may realize, just read the news today. Homeland security? Calling us terrorists, and letting illegal's work? By the way, no one is answering the phone at DHS, or the White House comment line. The only way we are going to be heard, is to take it to the streets.

You are not alone. We all learned that Wednesday and I was also greatly invigorated. I am going to put forth a proposal that I related to the board ops yesterday as a response to bounce it off of you. Perhaps we need to form a working committee on what I label PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS and open it up to everyone's ideas. Everyone I spoke with at the event was very intelligent and I feel would have some great insight to add.

What I wrote the ops:

I feel the enthusiasm brewing.

I would like to see this harnessed and quickly.

One of the major themes the left will reiterate a million times is that this was all a flash in the pan. Well, fellow citizens, I beg to differ. I found more than a few kindred spirits yesterday and even some new friends.

I would like to propose a project for everyone who attended. A personal goal to share with all of us. Talk among your own family and let’s delineate all the constructive things we can do as individuals or collectively to turn thought into actions. Let’s make a laundry list of those items and share with the entire group, first locally to test our resolve and then nationally.

The most important part I feel about yesterday is that the start of a movement can only be sustained if those of us who took the time to participate continue to meet, talk, plan and spur each other on. Those who organized the tea party should be rightfully praised. And in many groups I have seen that those same people are given the burden to run the show continually.

As conservatives, and those with common sense, let’s show the liberal media and bashers out there something new - let’s show them we have a lot of good ideas. Then let’s put them into practice.

A call to arms - would the leadership of this group please write an article soliciting ALL ideas of what the group can do and how so we can let everyone know… I heard some great items about attending the city, county and state house meetings. I would love to take that a step further. With rational signs, protest symbols, group spokespersons and prepared points to make at each opportunity we are given to speak on the issues.

When these media clowns see this is not going away, they will give us the proper coverage we demand. If you want to take back your country it starts with baby steps. And this was step one and I personally loved it! Now let’s start thinking. Please share your ideas.

PS I like that the pirates are coming together curly. We need more pirates. Whose with me? Arrrgh.

In all seriousness, your points are dead on. I would like to contribute by helping channel people's thoughts into practical action items that everyone inside the group and the general public can address.

We have leapt over the first hurdle with ease. I feel the second is to create goals, find consensus, set directions and begin the work. What ever that may be...
