http://www.wcnc.com/video/?z=y&nvid=352202 Check out this video. At any gathering, not everyone is going to have a answer for eveery question asked. When asked what Socialism is by the reporter, a woman attending couldn't answer the question. While she should know the answer, that doesn't make her stupid. Any large group of people will have some people that don't know certain things. Although I wish, and she probably also wished she could have answered the question, it seems to me that WCNC went around asking people questions but only chose to use the one question that wasn't answered correctly to spin the story to reflect badly on the group of protestors. I am not hating on the woman that couldn't answer the question, but the fact that the WCNC reporter and WCNC itself decided to spin the story this way. http://www.wcnc.com/video/?z=y&nvid=352202 Check it out.

As with all of today's non-journalists, their only refuge is to laughingly poke fun of the very serious attendees of this event. What they may not realize is that their own incomes can be placed in jeopardy should this very large, and soon-to-be organized conservative movement decide to stop patronizing these media ruffians. For those who want to persuade ye local print and television broadcasters, ye have resources within your reach. I say we pick a day and ask all those who attended to contact their friends and family and take the next step. CANCEL all subscriptions to the Charlotte Observer for their radical and anti-conservative views of the past. CANCEL them on a single day to show some impact and organization of this group. There are other steps to take but let's do this so we can coordinate the effort and show that liberal condescension will not be tolerated any longer. Hit them where it hurts, force them to lay off more staff. Who's with me? Arrrgh!

Alot of the media has bent over backwards to avoid anything but minimal coverage of tea parties, and in some cases such as the CNN reporter heckling that one protestor they have show heavy bias. WE are for sure doing something right (no pun intended). Let's keep this thing rolling.
PS: I canceled MY charlotte disturber subscription a LONG time ago.

I like the idea of targeting the media, but I cancelled the Observer three years ago.

After checking out the WCNC video, and being inspired by Richard to target the media, I wrote them the following letter.
I checked out your web site this evening to see how you covered the Tax Day Tea Party in Charlotte. Unfortunately, you confirmed by expectations with Rad Birky's smarmy report. It contained little substance, aside from the predictable biased, left-wing talking points. The clear purpose of his report was to snidely mock American citizens exercising their rights to free assembly and free speech. Obviously, these actions don't meet with your pre-conceived template of acceptable “free speech.” Apparently when you support a protest, it's patriotic to voice dissent, ie. to oppose the Iraq War, complain about President Bush, or to ridicule Sarah Palin. When the point of the protest doesn't meet your means test, then your tactic is to ridicule your viewers. Or in this case, your ex-viewers. I assume that your television station is doing very well during this economic downturn and can easily afford to lose a significant portion of your audience. Rad Birky's tactic appears to be fulfilling your organization's objective of belittling, mocking, and substantially driving away viewers. But hey, as long as your left wing propaganda mimics the mind-set of your viewers, I'm sure you'll do quite well. However, should you note that your profits, and ultimately jobs, disappear, it's probably due in no small measure to your arrogant, self-serving, snarkiness. And as you end up in the unemployment line when your world view is no longer the popular mantra, you should think back to the day when journalists were purveyors of truth, rather than propaganda tools. I'll be sure to email my comments to as many of the 2,500 participants in Wednesday's Tea Party as possible. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear what you think of them.

I saw the coverage on WCNC. I was outraged! I went right to my computer and sent them a email letting them know I did not appreciate, (like that will bother them). I dared them to interview me. Ask me all the questions. I have researched and learned more the past couple of months than I did in high school, and I don't like what I am learning. Come on, stick the microphone in my face.
Did anyone see the lady on CNN? It's a good thing that we are a peace loving bunch. She would have been in trouble other wise.

Kevin Sier's cartoon in the Observer this morning is the equivalent of a store making fun of it's customers as they shop. It is clear why their newspaper is in rapid decline and layoffs are occuring. No business could keep it's doors open making fun of it's customers. It was stated yesterday that the media(except Fox) has declared civil war on Conservatives.

I suggest printing the Gadsden and Culpepper Flag from this link and send it to the Observer and other local
media.http://www.flagpictures.org/downloads/print/gadsden1.jpg

I, too, wrote them an email stating my discontent. I vowed to put forth every effort to boycott not only the "news coverage" but their regular programming as well. With cable and satelite, we can find our shows elsewhere. I may not be able to change the way they edited this video but I have the right to decide where to get my news information, I have the right to decide where to spend my money, I have the right to boycott. And if boycotting WCNC doesn't work...I will start a grassroots boycott of local business that advertise on WCNC. It has become one of my missions to see this outlet shutdown.

Excellent idea Mike. Perhaps everyone posting can compose a series of letters assailing WCNC. First step - any business owners out there who advertise with CNC please consider canceling those contracts immediately. I am already telling clients who use broadcast media in town we will not be buying time on that station. Ncchick, exactly! CALL TO ANYONE who advertises from this group! Please consider changing stations, or outlets asap! One email is ignored, five are noticed, a hundred are a warning, 2,500 will get their undivided attention. There were several business owners I spoked with at the rally. We are the core of job formation in this country and cannot be ignored. Polly wanna handout? NO WAY!

It's ok kids. We got em talking. If we didn't make a impact they just would have said nothing. I saw that wacky Oberman on MSNBC. ( I flip back during commercials on the real news channel) and saw he had a guest saying we were all racist. Gee where have I heard that before. Seems these days if you don't agree with Washington then your a racist. Someone is worried and they should be. I am with ya on the boycott. We have to keep this thing alive.

It is so hard to be a racist when your ancestry includes Native Americans, caucasian and God knows what else? Aren't most Americans multi-ethnic, and have roots from more than one continent at this point? Are we racist against ourselves? Ooooo I hate me, I think I will discriminate against ME today! The I can call myself a racist HAHA!

We should also call the people who advertise on their station saying we will be boy-cotting your products until you pull the ads of the station.

GE the parent company of NBC, MSNBC and CNBC has alot to gain from the Obama Administration green policy with GE in the windmill generator business and will also handle the trading of carbon credits in the Cap and Trade taxation plan in the Obama budget along with GE credit trying to get billions in bailout money.
WCNC is Charlotte's NBC affiliate that has corporate orders to downplay and make to look bad the tea parties as much as possible to help the Obama Administration implement it's green policies for GE's financial gain.
Investigate further because there is more of this payback corruption for the election bias used to get Obama elected.
