There is going to be a pre-protest at the Charlotte Observer at 1pm on April 15th. At about 1:45 everyone at the Observer will walk the couple of blocks down to City Hall. The Charlotte Observer Point of contact for the Pre-Protest is Randy Goforth. For more information email him or post up in this thread! His email address is randygoforth@aol.com

I cancelled my subscription to the Charlotte Observer after 30 years of loyal reading due to the biased way they covered the last election!
I hope more of you have done the same!
Notice newspapers going bankrupt all over the country due to readers cancelling they're subscriptions over the biased election coverage!!! Of course you will never hear them admit that is the reason, but we know better!

I know what you mean - the newspaper bias is insane. In the early 90's I found a way to quit the Los Angeles Time after being a loyal employee for 11 years. I was one of their top sales managers but couldn't continue promoting a paper that printed stuff I disagreed with 80% of the time.
I moved to Charlotte from VA last year – I am getting the Observer because I need it for business. I have a newspaper/print and advertising industry background. One of the major reasons papers are dying (in addition to their bias) is the age of the Internet. I struggled to get my print bosses to understand that if they did not find a way to embrace the Internet they would become extinct as a business. I find newspaper management to be so stuck in their outdated mindset – the same ignorance that keeps them self-convinced that they are brilliant leaders regarding business and social issues has lead to the collapse of their business.
Ask any liberal (journalist or others) to provide actual examples - name one social program, government body or country that has used their liberal/socialist policies that resulted in better outcomes that what we see in the U.S. They can never provide me one – they always live in the ‘idea or theory’ of the best outcome – the utopian ideal of what we ‘could be’ – it usually has some level of disconnect from either reality or ignores history as an example.
That being said – the liberals beat us to the punch with using the Internet as well – we have got to wake up and take back our nations avenues and tools of communications. We must reach the people in better and smarter ways!

The only newspaper I still get after over 15 years is the "Charlotte Business Journal" that comes out weekly and is an excellent source of information for the small business owner and corporate executive in the Charlotte area.
There is also an excellent survey done nationwide by them of small business owners on the economy that is real interesting.
