I heard Rush Limbaugh talk today about the protest in Washington D.C. and I actually had to turn him off. It appeared to me that he was trying to make sure that everyone knew the protesters were ONLY protesting the Democrats. Do not get me wrong, I love Rush, he is very entertaining and has done more for conservatives than almost anyone around. But, I would saddened if I thought that around a million people showed up to Washington to protest that the other party was now in control of the Legislative and Executive branch. I think the protests are much larger than that. I think people are showing up to protest big government spending, from Democrats AND Republicans. In fact, I would like to think that some are just as upset at the Republicans for losing their way as with the Democrats for being who they always promised to be.

In fact, the absolute worst thing that could happen would be if all the tea party, D.C., and townhall protests only accomplished putting Big Government Republicans back into office!  So for Rush to come on the air, and define the protest as purely anti-democrat, pro-republican,  does a huge disservice to what I think we are trying to accomplish. This is not about partisan politics, its about Big Government vs Individual Liberty.  Rush went on to say that we should never consider voting for a third party. What if Republicans compromise and go along with a health care reform that we all protest? What if they continue to support millions of our tax dollars for ethanol subsidies, for Pat McCrorys lightrail, more Big Government spending? Should we always just continue to choose between the lesser of two evils?

If all that is accomplished is that the guys on the "home team" with an R on their jerzeys win the next elections you can count me out of the next protest. I want Conservatives, true to the Consitution to rise to the highest levels of representative politics. It doesn't matter to me if they happen to be a Libertarian, from the Constitutional Party, or new and organized under a label born of the Tea Partys. So, for now I am going to give myself a little break from Rush who I will always be thankful to for making politics fun and interesting.  I will be back, because he is entertaining and almost always right about 92% of the time. But, he was wrong on Arlen Spector when he helped him get re-elected, and he sure is wrong here.

Some may be OK with government intrusion on our Liberty because the man with the stick is part of the home team, but as for me
