I did a little online research because I asked what if.

I was trying to verify the feasibilty of putting everyone in the U. S. on the same plan that our government officials enjoy. This is what I found:

The total monthly premiums range from 220-1420  dollars per month, This is the total, including what the employee pays, and the employer pays.

Assuming 200 million subscribers, the total cost ranges from 528 Billion to 3.4 Trillion dollars per year.

My next question was, what are we spending now. My best guess, which is a two year old estimate, is 520 billion per year. This includes all federally funded health care (medicare, VA, Tri-Care, etc...).

Based on those numbers, it seems to me we could spend 10 billion dollars more at the federal level, and eliminate a lot of internal costs. This would totally take the burden off the states as well, as everything is now covered. The 530 billion number is for the minimum coverage. If you want more, feel free to pay for it yourself. That option should be on the table. According to the data I analyzed, the states are currently footing the bill for the first 300 billion anyhow.

I would appreciate any more accurate numbers from your own research to prove me right or wrong.  I would like to be able to make this case as an alternative to what has been presented so far. I do not need bogus numbers or doctored data, or cooked books, I just ask for the truth.

Thank you all for your patriotism and diligence!

TORT Reform would possibly take out $200 billion to $500 billion per year from healthcare cost that would stop doctors from practicing defensive medicine with alot unnecessary testing, doctors would be able to pay less for malpractice insurance, hospitals and drug makers would pay less for liability insurance and could eliminate the teams of lawyers on the payroll to fight off the wasted frivilous litigation that lawyers like John Edwards made around $60 million dollars from medical malpractice lawsuits.

Lawyers have taken over our country that includes even Kathleen Sieblius that is the Secretary of Health and Human Services who was the chairman of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. The National Trial Lawyers Association is one of the largest contributors to the Democrat Party with around 60 Senators, 200 Congressmen, The President, The VP and even the first Lady all have Law Degrees.

TORT reform is not even an issue on any of the reform bills in Congress and I believe you guys can fiqure out why.

It's time we throw the Sharks out and take our country back!

Don't vote for Lawyers no matter what party they belong to!
